Jujutsu Kaisen is in my books for being one of the most impressive anime produced. The various art style shifts and the way each animation director crafts each 20 min episode into art. One of the most recent episodes gave us so much over a single episode it felt like a 75 minute movie. Pretty much right after the episode aired I started thumb nailing some sequences I wanted to draw. That Maki Zeni episode was something special.
This year is the year of the Fire Horse based on Chinese zodiac I like to get in on the trend of creating a New Year illustration. Even though it doesn’t start until February 17, 2026 it seems every year people start the first of the year posting their drawings. A really fun show called Gachiakuta started and one of the really standout character characters is named Guita the oversized kaiju one piece just looks cool. Also a cleaned up late night Pinterest study I just had fun with the brush that night.
Sorting out my iPad Procreate files and Clip files to make backups and start new 2026 folders. Here are a couple fanart drawings I cleaned up and posted around a few places towards the end of last year. Chainsaw Man: Reze and To be Hero X really inspired me last year. I really hope to pick up both art books if they are announced.
