Weekly Wrap-Up 9-4-18

The final days of summer currently I am just doing iPad sketches every couple of days. Last week I backed up my 2018 iPad sketches it’s over 120+ files with a couple months left in the year, this years sketchbook looks like it’s going to be massive.

Weekly Wrap-Up 8-13-18

Not doing very much drawings the last two weeks. It’s the height of summer so by the time I get home mostly small drawings. I did spend most of my time chipping away at this month’s character design challenge topic – a character from the baroque period.

I have been trying out Procreate 4.1. I really like the time-lapse feature it’s fun while messing around with Adobe Spark.

Weekly Wrap-Up 7-30-18

Still having way to much fun with the #drawthisinyourstyle challenge. I had a couple more since my last post. It’s so much fun to interpret someones drawing into my own. Especially the type of characters that are truly quite original.

I also had to get in on the She-Ra fanart that’s been going around on my feed. It’s awesome to see the illustration community come together to support one another always.

Weekly Wrap-Up 7-16-18

The last week a fun art challenge popped up called #drawthisinyourstyle. A number of my favorite illustrators posted their work with the challenge for everyone else to re-draw it in your personal style. I collected a couple of my favorite post and picked up the challenge. I am sure I will have a couple more in the next couple of weeks. It’s been fun interpreting the various character designs into my own style.

Of course I had to keep the monthly Character Design Challenge going. The topic was African Warrior.

Weekly Wrap-Up 7-2-18

Enjoying the best time of the year and getting back into a couple of smaller projects hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Also really trying to do full color in my semi-daily drawings, I really want this years hardbound sketchbook to have a larger color section.

Weekly Wrap-Up 6-18-18

It’s my favorite time of the year, I have been on the road just putting miles on the bike and taking stops to sketch. For the month of May I managed to do something for Mermay, a couple of NBA illustrations and of course one for the monthly character design challenge. Some days I want to do thick inker lines and the next day loose pencil styled designs. It’s still hard to decide what “style” I actually am.

Weekly Wrap-Up 6-4-18

I got around to uploading a couple of older illustrations that I did last month. On May the fourth aka Star Wars day I did a quick Luke illustration. One of my fav. music videos in quite sometime is Childish Gambino’s – This is America the afternoon after watching it I stayed up into the early AM to draw it. Besides that here are a couple of lunchtime pencil sketches in my work sketchbook.

Weekly Wrap-Up 5-21-18

Things have been a but busy lately. I did find the time to do a couple of illustrations for one of my favorite film franchises Aliens. Besides that I uploaded my recent pencil sketches in my work sketchbook.

Weekly Wrap-Up 5-14-18

I did a couple of Space Pirate designs for last months character design challenge and eventually went with the initial concept and cleaned it up. Besides that a few lunchtime sketches and tried an animation test using Clip Studio on iPad only.

Warm weather finally showed up I really want to do outdoor drawings debating on doing it digital or carrying a small book and pencils. These illustrations are from the last couple of weeks I am getting around to uploading them on my site.

Weekly Wrap-Up 4-22-18

Getting back to posting again, mostly just smaller night time drawings. I have been doing a lot of digital blue pencil layouts and very few completed drawings.

Weekly Wrap-Up 3-26-18

Finishing up a couple of outside projects so I haven’t been filling up the sketch pile lately. At least with the last batch of snow storms I have been able to do some fun weekday AM model reference drawings.
