Weekly Wrap-Up 01-16-26

This year is the year of the Fire Horse based on Chinese zodiac I like to get in on the trend of creating a New Year illustration. Even though it doesn’t start until February 17, 2026 it seems every year people start the first of the year posting their drawings. A really fun show called Gachiakuta started and one of the really standout character characters is named Guita the oversized kaiju one piece just looks cool. Also a cleaned up late night Pinterest study I just had fun with the brush that night.

Sorting out my iPad Procreate files and Clip files to make backups and start new 2026 folders. Here are a couple fanart drawings I cleaned up and posted around a few places towards the end of last year. Chainsaw Man: Reze and To be Hero X really inspired me last year. I really hope to pick up both art books if they are announced.

Over the summer I started a series of TMNT x Naruto illustrations. A number of characters from both shows would work well together if they crossed paths. Most of these were in a Procreate folder and every so often I would revisit one while starting thumbnails for the next one.

Glitch Productions recently released a pilot called “Knights of Guinevere”. The character designs and background art really stood out. I saw the trio of main characters and did a couple of AU sketches then after finding a fan art post by @eyecager I drew some additional poses of Gwen in her Halloween outfit.
