Weekly Wrap-Up 2-18-21

Big fan of Attack on Titan having so much fun watching “The Final Season”. I had to do at least one fan art for the season. Working on doing smaller mechanical layouts for fun did a mecha version of the SpaceX rocket getting ready for battle. Lastly the music video for Zutomayo’s single was so well done I did a couple of illustrations based on the incredible character designs.

Weekly Wrap-Up 2-1-21

Really happy with how my first illustration for 2021 turned out. I changed the entire concept half way through coloring and realized the first pass was still the best. Drew a Draw this in your style for @Anjohink his characters are always so unique. The last couple of weeks I have figuring out some designs for 2021 so I need to dust off the mecha part of my brain. I missed drawing fun space stuff.

Weekly Wrap-Up 1-11-21

Finished up a couple of illustrations I had sitting around. During the end of year I caught up on a couple of my favorite shows and did some illustations based on the shows. I did a dance study video trying out a new iPad app and watched a really funny Larry King interview with Danny Pudi and had to do an animation of the interview.

Weekly Wrap-Up 12-28-20

My end of the year animation 2020 wrap up video. Another year I learned a lot about the process and continue to get more confident with the software. I really enjoyed the Netflix series The Queens Gambit and did a couple of fanarts based on the lead character. Besides that a couple of weekend illustrations and my annual holiday card.

Weekly Wrap-Up 11-23-20

Character design topic for November was to design a Yokai, I drew a Tanuki. A couple of weeks ago Adidas released the design collection for Ivy Park season 2. I did a couple of fashion illustrations based on the designs. On repeat the last couple of weeks I have been streaming Black Thought’s Streams of Thought Vol. 3. One night I did a couple of frames and ended up to a quick animation to a couple of verses from the track called “State Prisoner”.

Weekly Wrap-Up 11-9-20

During the online CTX expo one of the topics was about more diversity in animation. One of the host brought up the drawing challenge for October called #blacktober just redraw a character for a series you enjoy but make them black. I did a couple themed all around my favorite series: Evangelion, Gurren Langan, You’re Lie in April, Eureka Seven and Persona 5 to wrap it all up.

Weekly Wrap-Up 11-2-20

I had a couple of themed reference studies to finish up almost done with the last one. I wanted to do a couple of weekend illustrations Halloween themed and I was able to do all of the concepts I wanted to do for it. I really enjoy the Procreate rendering process but I am still running into a layers limitation towards the end of completing an illustration it’s kind of a pain but trying to condense the number of layers so it’s not a problem.

Weekly Wrap-Up 10-19-20

For Octobers character design challenge the theme was Aztec warrior. As usual I had a couple of rough pencil sketches and in the end just worked with a mash of a couple of them into one final illustration. I have a number of weekend model reference studies this is just another in a series. Finally I am big fan of animator @rocketboiart his characters really stand out. I did a weekend personal challenge I took one of his characters and did a small animation featuring her.

Weekly Wrap-Up 10-12-20

Cleaned up a couple of illustrations I had on my drive. The Kipo poster was done after finishing up watching season 2 of Kipo I need to have it printed and hug up in my office. The other couple were rendering exercises I wanted to try using some brushes I never use to render folds and shadows. The woman with the sword was my just having fun illustration I am a huge fan of just modern fashion with cool stylized characters.

Weekly Wrap-Up 9-20-20

Finishing up a summer project but still doing small late night illustrations and animations when I can. I found a couple of shortcuts that help me do quicker animations in Clip Studio studying a lot of frames has helped me realize I can do more with less. I watched Beastars a while back and never got around to posting this fan art. Also a couple of draw this in your style challenges it’s always so much fun to interpret another artist work.
